We are proud to announce the epIQ Index – a single performance metric designed to meet the demands of both renters and multifamily professionals alike.
What is the epIQ Index?
Powered by verified ApartmentRatings and SatisFacts data, the “Experience & Performance Intelligence Quotient (epIQ) Index” delivers the most authentic, relevant, and actionable information determined by real renters to best represent their experience as both residents & prospects as well as the performance of management throughout the entire renter lifecycle.
Simplifying the complex

The beauty and effectiveness of the epIQ Index come from its ability to take multiple sets of complex data that renters and multifamily professionals rely on every day, and simplify them into one easily understood letter grade/report card format, reminiscent of our days as students in school. The epIQ Index will be available at both community and portfolio levels.

How is it calculated?
The Index is comprised of 4 primary variables measured over the most recent 365 day period and updated daily – meaning that every day is an opportunity to improve your epIQ results. Each variable is assigned a weight based on the latest renter behaviors and preferences.
The 4 epIQ Variables:
- Renter Ratings (from reviews & surveys)
- Manager Review Response Rate
- Review Volume
- Manager Review Response Time
Where will I see it?
In the upcoming months, the epIQ Index will play a leading role on ApartmentRatings and in our EXCHANGE platform.

Additionally, lists of the epIQ Index Top 100 Management Companies (according to portfolio size) will be published every month on the SatisFacts Blog. In fact, why wait…see the first two lists now!
