2009 National Award Winners

Miller adds, “Companies today have the opportunity to promote a significant competitive advantage in the challenging housing environment we’re operating in – that in independent research with the industry’s resident satisfaction survey authority, residents rated their performance as superior.” In addition to the national winners, numerous properties and companies also earn Superior and Exceptional awards during the year. Besides displays for property offices, national and on-going winners utilize award logos in a variety of ways to proudly promote their performance to prospective and current residents, clients, prospective clients and/or investors. Research has shown that promoting award-level resident satisfaction actually leads to new rentals. Miller adds, “We like to say it this way – promoting a property or company winning an award in ads is like being able to say, ‘Forget what our ad says…look at how fantastic our residents think we are.’”
 
While focusing on “customer” satisfaction always has a positive impact, today’s marketplace demands an even greater focus on retaining residents and protecting NOI. Jen Piccotti, SatisFacts’ VP of Consulting Services, comments, “Our clients have seen the benefit of a greater focus on not just satisfaction but also measuring it.  First year clients often see turnover drop by up to 6%, and our seasoned clients’ average turnover is nearly 10 points below the rates reported in the NAA Annual Income and Expense Report.”
